The rules of engagement for the Senior Common Room

  1. Be respectful, positive and professional
    Treat all members with courtesy. Keep comments positive. Disagreements are fine. Personal attacks, sarcasm or disrespect are not.
  2. No profanities
    Use of profanities, such as swear words and any other offensive language, is not permitted. Please keep your language appropriate at all times.
  3. Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and privacy
    Respect the confidential nature of licensing deals and business practices. Do not share client-specific or proprietary information. Follow any NDAs you have internally or contractually. Anonymise real-world examples. Do not share personal information of other members without consent.
  4. Moderator decisions are final
    Moderators are here to maintain a constructive space. If your post is removed or edited, you will be informed. Repeated violations may result in removal.
  5. Report issues, don’t escalate them
    If you see spam, disrespectful behaviour or a rule violation, please report it to moderators. Don’t argue or escalate in-thread.
  6. No soliciting or unapproved advertising
    Do not use the forum to promote your services or products or external links without permission. If in doubt, ask the moderators.
  7. Stay on topic
    Post in the appropriate category and keep discussions focused. Use clear titles and avoid vague or off-topic posts.
  8. Use clear and inclusive language
    Write clearly and avoid jargon where possible. This is a global forum and members come from many different countries and backgrounds, with different personal views. Please avoid religious or political statements to keep discussions professional and respectful.
  9. Share your expertise and insights
    This is a community of professionals. Contribute your knowledge, ask thoughtful questions and help advance the conversation.
  10. English-only posts
    To keep discussions accessible and inclusive, please post in English.
